A Hitchcockian encounter with dozens of seagulls.

Why are they following me? (Could it be the pretzels?)

Somebody's always complaining.

Point Sal Beach
April 6:
Hiked 5 miles to Point Sal Beach on the edge of
Vandenburg Air Force Base. The one-lane road is washed out
(for decades it appears), so I walked it (starting at
"Ridge" on the map). Fairly strenuous, since it required
going from sea level to 1100 feet then back to sea level,
then the same on return.

Near the summit of the road to Point Sal Beach. Nearly everything pictured
is part of Vandenburg Air Force Base.

I have a personal relationship with this sign.
It is the same
one I FOIA'd for and sold at the Area 51 Research Center.

Point Sal State Beach,
the most remote beach I have ever visited. Probably gets
only a handful of visitors a year. I frolicked naked
in the surf!
(I have a photo of that, too, but I'm not releasing it, 'cause
I'm bashful.)
